SCS is looking for a dynamic professional to join our Global Food Safety Initiative Food Safety team. As a Scheme Manager and GFSI Auditor, you will be responsible for managing GFSI schemes (SQF, BRC, FSC 22000), overseeing operational and certification functions, and conducting GFSI audits on an as needed basis. Primary responsibilities of this position includes conducting audits, management of scheme requirements and effectively implementing current program requirements. Strong attention to detail and professional communication skills, both internally and externally is required.
Roles and Responsibilities
Scheme Management and Auditing
Manage respective scheme program documents
Oversee operational functions and certification functions to support the program
Actively support program in process improvements
Conduct GFSI audits as assigned.
Assist in conducting technical reviews of the audit reports.
Assist in conducting internal audits on respective schemes to prepare the dept. for annual internal and onsite audits.
Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and staff
Work closely with program staff to ensure the certification process has been completed and delivered to the clients in a timely manner.
Support staff on QA functions
Conduct witness audits
Search for qualified GFSI sub-contractors
Work with Corporate QA team on scheme qualifications
Attend CB conventions
Submit auditors qualifications to scheme owners to qualify for food sector categories
This is an office based job. Sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Food Science, Food Microbiology or other Science related field). Scope-specific work or study experience and/or applied experience in food industry
At least 3 years’ experience in management of ISO food safety systems certifications
Qualified GFSI auditor and have conducted audits in schemes, such SQF, BRC, and FSSC 22000 (minimum at least 2 years)
Superior leadership skills in managing the scheme requirements
Must have strong proficiency in English. Excellent writing, communication, and customer service skills
Initiative and ability to work independently, responsive and adaptive personality
Flexible in working hours (overtime and in weekends) to complete projects on time and respond to clients on urgent matters.
Professional attitude towards work and willing to help program staff.
Strong time-management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Expert relationship building skills as well as knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Superior communication skills to communicate professionally with clients, Auditors, and staff.
