This position requires a solid understanding of food product development and processes, U.S. and international food regulations, labeling requirements, claims, and food allergens. Knowledge in food safety, nutrition and ingredient functions are strongly preferred. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Food Science or related field from four-year college or university. Strong knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations and a minimum of 3 years direct experience in Regulatory Affairs are required. Previous R&D and/or QA experience in food industry and Genesis, Product Lifecycle Management and SAP knowledge are strongly preferred.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to interpret and simplify domestic regulations for others to understand.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, conversions and proportions to practical situations. Knowledge of metric system is preferred.
Excellent computer skills are required. Mastery of Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, Genesis, Controlled Documentum and Corporate Documentum.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical regulations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
