Oversee the organization of, updating of, and creating as needed, all technical information necessary to support the complete product line of a small (50+ employees) but rapidly growing 118-year old food company in New York City. Categories include: nutritional information, product specifications, product formulations, R&D for new products, QC / QA, product labeling, etc, essentially creating a department from scratch for technical data creation and management.
Insure that all technical data on any product will be accessible and up-to-date, and in a format that can be presented to our customers, our production staff, and regulatory inspectors and auditors that might request it.
Interface directly with company ownership, the technological and QA/QC personnel of our customer base (both existing accounts and potential customers under solicitation), our plant management, and our production staff...and will be an integral and critical part of our organization at several levels.
We are a small family business, quickly expanding, supplying national restaurant chains, food-service distributors, retail outlets, and other food manufacturing companies with a variety of pickle and relish products. Experience in basic food science a must. Must have good organizational and computer skills, especially Excel. Knowledge in the areas of pickle production, acidified and / or refrigerated foods / fermented foods would be a huge plus. Minimum 5 years experience working in the food industry.
Additional Salary Information: This is an entirely new position within our company. Final salary and responsibilities will be based on interview and experience.
