Operating from a 110,000-square foot state-of-the-art facility in Benicia, California, Flavor Insights offers powder, liquid and spray dry flavors to develop products from pilot to commercialized scale-up. FI is seeking an Analytical Chemist.
The Analytical Chemist will provide technical support to both the application team and flavor creation team. Working with the flavor team would mainly involve flavor duplication. Control samples will need to be extracted, concentrated, analyzed, and then a formula recommendation back to flavor creation. Application support would consist of reverse engineering market products to create bases for applications to apply flavor. This could consist of ph, brix, titratable acidity, etc. The Analytical Chemist would have full responsibly to grow our analytical lab and our analytical capabilities. This role could and should develop into an Analytical Manager role.

With minimal supervision, safely and effectively develop, establish, and validate analytical testing methodologies used to control raw materials, production intermediates, and final products.
Investigate and solve analytical technical issues within Analytical Development, Chemical Development, Process Support Group and Quality Control
Perform analytical chemistry assays based on new and existing methodologies
Write technical reports to document analytical methods
Maintain laboratory notebooks documenting work
Maintain compliance with GMP and SOPs
Transfer documented analytical methods to the QC and Process Support Group departments
Set up new or existing analytical methods for compound identification, purity and potency testing
