ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Fruit and Vegetable Dehydration Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in the Republic of Georgia. A small scale farmer is requesting assistance from a Food Dehydration Specialist to learn best practices in fruit and vegetable drying techniques. They currently grow berries, plums, apples and vegetables such as carrots and tomatoes. They are also interested in developing a dehydrated soup mix to sell locally. The assignment will last for approximately 3 weeksin country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses will be provided.
University degree in Food Technology, Agriculture or some other related topic.
At least 5 years of experience working with dehydrated foods.
Experience using basic methods for food dehydration.
Proficient computer skills including MS Word and Excel
