Dairy Ingredient Trading Company and Dairy Specialty Product Manufacturer is looking for a sales manager in selling custom formulated dairy Ingredients and/or dairy specialty products, to food manufacturers across the United States. This role requires someone that has a solid foundation with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the dairy industry and a clear understanding of market dynamics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Generating new leads and profitable business opportunities
Ability to seek out new opportunities in the growing Nutritional and Food application sectors.
Establish annual sales forecast
Maintaining and growing value based customer relationships that will make company a trusted partner with its customers and will translate into meeting or exceeding annual sales budgets
Establishing and adjusting selling prices by monitoring costs, competition and supply and demand. Responsibility for and ownership of P&L.
Negotiating contracts and supply agreements
Close interaction with customer service to ensure that customer expectations are seamlessly met
Monitor customer aging; assist in the assessment of any current or potential customer’s credit worthiness and ability to pay outstanding balances
Excellent compensation package including salary and bonuses. Head office is on the west coast but position can be home based if preferred. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum of 5 years of successful sales and formulating track record of generating new business opportunities within the targeted market segments (beverage, dairy, sports nutrition, confections, bakery, pet food, etc.)
Prior and current knowledge of customers in the target market segments
Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills
Exceptional “hunting” skills
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: Commission on Sales in addition to base
