Winrock International requests the support of a Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer for a 16 day volunteer assignment (including travel) located in Dodowa in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater-Accra Region. The volunteer will review and improve on Hendy Farms’ existing plant layout for establishing a fruit (mango, pineapple and citrus) processing facility, make recommendations on the appropriate fruit processing equipment to acquire to scale up production and provide adequate planning and layout of the fruit processing facility recommended. It is expected that this technical assistance will help them to improve and expand their operations to make them more sustainable and increase their income.
The volunteer should have the following qualifications and background:
Degree and experience in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering or related field
5-10 years’ experience in facilitating and knowledge in facility design and establishing equipment repairs and training to start-up processing enterprises in developing countries.
Experience in training and transferring hands-on knowledge to adults
Good report writing, verbal and communication skills
Ability to use a computer for report writing and presentations without the assistance of others

Additional Salary Information: No salary or consulting fees paid for volunteer work. All assignment expenses are paid by Winrock through USAID F2F funding. Volunteers donate time and expertise.
