This Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring food safety and quality compliance for our manufacturing facility/facilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business or related field
Experience: 5+ years in Quality Management in Food Processing or Manufacturing Facility.
Experience in Federal and State food safety regulations
Experience with SQF and validating changes to food safety and defense programs
Ability to take initiative to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment
Strong oral and written skills required
Periodic lifting of up to 40lbs, pushing and pulling on occasion
Strategic planning and budgeting experience and strong communication and negotiating skills are required
Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Experience in PC’s and Microsoft Office products with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook
Experience with R&D and product development is a plus
Experience with Statistical Process Control is a plus.
Essential Job Functions:
Serves as the primary contact for all Quality, Food Safety, Co-Manufacturing and Regulatory issues
Develops implements and manages the Quality and Food Safety System
Develops, maintains and ensures compliance of a qualified HACCP program
Ensures the effectiveness of the Master Sanitation and Pest Control programs for the facility and any associated food grade storage areas
Manages and trains the activities of the Quality Staff
Analyzes QA data to measure, access and improve product quality performance
Recommends new or improved quality control methods, procedures and standards.
Performs line run and plant inspections for 3rd party suppliers.
Communicates compliance results to operating groups, ensures timely feedback and provides technical support to operate processes at target
Utilizes customer and consumer complaint data to identify root cause, then communicates and provides support to implement process/product improvements.
Determines the disposition of all raw materials, packaging and finished product HOLD orders
Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
