We seek a food scientist to oversee scaffold manufacturing at our Dublin, Ohio facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our process-es and supplier facilities adhere to QA/QC standards, consistently delivering the highest quality product. Successful candidates are self-motivated, organized, and possess the drive to lead their team toward short- and long-term production and distribution goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the nutritional content of products, including fat content, calories, and nutritional values
  • Develop standards and specifications to ensure all safety, sanitary, water supply, and waste management regulations are met
  • Use your scientific knowledge to discover new ways to process, preserve, store, and package food and drink products
  • Identify viable substitutes for unfavorable additives
  • Work to improve various aspects of food/drink, including nutritional value, flavor, color, texture, and chemical composition
  • Study the stages of food processing and how it affects the overall product
  • Develop, test, and introduce new products
  • Ensure the Quality Control department adheres to governmental and industry standards
  • Collaborate with operators, engineers, flavor experts, and packaging and marketing representatives to ensure a smooth product development process
  • Assist in the development of quality assurance programs

Necessary Skills & Qualifications

  • One year or more of proven industry experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in food engineering, chemistry, biology, or another related field
  • Extensive knowledge of various sciences and their applications to food
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process, best practices, and equipment
  • Knowledge of meat, meat-based products, alternative protein, cultivated meat and production practices is a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with varying personalities, educational backgrounds, and technical levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with an ability to multitask and prioritize

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

This position may require occasional international travel to vendors and customers.
 
Must be authorized presently to work in the United States.
