Summary The primary focus of this position is to support growth in business development through application development expertise in flavor and extract selection and evaluation to demonstrate the FP value proposition to customers as well as identify new opportunities for the portfolio. Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavor creation, and customers for specific Flavor Producers, LLC applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Deliver against customer briefs, ensuring that flavors and finished products align with project constraints and customer needs (cost, flavor legislation, label restrictions, processing etc.)
Independently develop and creatively present custom demos catered to the client, demonstrating our capabilities, our understanding of current flavor and extract trends and their relevance to the customer
Customer engagement through presentations of FP technical capabilities
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Generate tasting sheets for customer presentations
Work effectively in our internal system, adhering to standards of formulation
Support sales at customer visits and tradeshows when needed, providing technical assistance and explanation of products being demonstrated
Act as technical liaison to specified customers where appropriate
Build relationship with ingredient vendors to strengthen product development knowledge
Develop innovative food and beverage concepts without direction from a customer that are commercially viable and micro safe
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Food Science or Culinary Degree and/or equivalent work experience, with preferably a minimum of 6-8 years in application development within the food ingredient or flavor industry.
Application development experience in alcoholic beverages or beverages preferred.
Experienced Presentation Skills with Customer Engagement and Innovation
Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Experience with aligning current trends with customer application demonstration
Ability to thrive in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment
Strong organizational skills and follow through
General knowledge of food safety requirements and shelf-life stability for finished product development
Broad understanding of flavor characteristics such as solubility, stability, reactivity
Ability to describe flavors and finished products with appropriate sensory language
Knowledge of industry software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
