R&D Manager is an accomplished and creative food product developer to effectively support ongoing initiatives and participate in the development of new products and respond to evolving consumer trends. R&D Manager is responsible for overseeing new product development, developing product specifications, facilitating change management and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. This role also requires cross-departmental participation with Marketing, Sales and Production. R&D Manager maybe part of the company’s HACCP team
Supports projects through effective and efficient delivery of trials (and preliminary analysis of results), product prototypes, technical reports or communication.
Participate at the supplier approval and monitoring process to ensure that any potential risks from raw materials to the safety, authenticity, legality and quality of the final product are managed
Contributes to the planning and executes trials, tests, measurement activities within projects
Commit to the implementation and continual improvement of the requirements of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and to processes with facilitate company’s intention to meet obligation to produce safe and legal products to the specified quality
Conduct research and develop proposals for ingredients, packaging, product and supplies received in conjunction with product development / changes.
Supports implementation in the business environment.
Develop detailed SOP for production on how to produce new and current products
Assist in the competitive identification/selection /negotiation and purchasing of packaging, supplies / utensils and ingredients
Work closely with the Director of Operations, VP Marketing and their teams
Work in partnership with the QA and Regulatory Manager to implement and maintain quality control programs for packaging, finished products and ingredients and develop criteria for evaluation of product quality
Accurate recording and reporting of data.
Ensure detailed recipe data and food cost file is updated and regularly maintained
Adhere to standards set by quality / safety / portfolio management systems.
