Yost Foods, a growing food ingredient manufacturer in Northeast Ohio is expanding the sales team. The Account Manager- Industrial Food Ingredients should have a demonstrated track record of selling food ingredients to manufacturing for targeted segments such as Sauces, Dressings, Frozen and Refrigerated Foods. The person will be responsible for organic growth via existing customers, and new business development. Our products are often custom developed solutions co-developed with our team and the customer.
Position requires 60% travel to various locations primarily in the Mid-West, as allowed.
Job location: Brunswick, Ohio; may live W. of Mississippi, will need to train at the plant in Ohio
Primary Job Description and Duties
Responsible for the sale of flavor solutions (Bases, Concentrates, Seasonings, Blends) into the sauces, dressings, frozen and refrigerated foods segments.
Meets or exceeds sales objectives set by management, including gross sales, net new business, and profitability expectations.
High level of focus on the development of new customers and contacts in the targeted segments.
Expands sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services; developing new applications with R & D team.
Identifies market potential and qualifies accounts. Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts.
Efficient management of the assigned territory including call planning, documentation of customer needs, necessary next steps, and timely follow up with customers.
Plays the lead role in developing projects and managing them from inception to fruition.
Manages the Project pipeline through the use of HubSpot to actively track projects and keep information timely and up to date.
Contributes to the team effort to maintain our high quality and safety standards.
Proactively works to develop multiple points of contact between the customer and Yost Foods team members.
Effectively manages expenses, travel, budgets, and forecasting.
Able to effectively communicate the Yost Foods value proposition and leverage it to grow their territory.
Participate in annual training to improve sales skills.
Represents Yost Foods at Trade Shows and Industry events.
Minimum BS degree in Food Science, Business, or other related discipline with a preference for Food related degrees.
Work Experience – 8-10 years of successful industrial food ingredients sales experience with a focus on strategic value-added selling. Flavor sales experience is a plus.
Possesses a high level of motivation and is a self-starter with a track record of success.
Strong interpersonal skills that lead to development of new customer contacts, customers, and long-term relationships.
Ability to work in a highly independent and self-directed work environment.
Demonstrates a high level of organizational and planning skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across functional lines and multiple levels of customer organizations.
Must be able to travel a minimum of 60% of their time for regular customer calls.
Works well with internal customers.
Demonstrated computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint preferably in a Windows environment.
