The Senior Quality Lead (Protein) supports the North America Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) and Global FSQA Teams by managing regulatory compliance of products (Import & Export), product samples, product graphics, managing Specification Review Program and compliance requirements and supporting compliance with Subway nutritional requirements.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with manufacturers, culinary, and purchasing to determine raw material handling, national availability (or approved alternatives), processing parameters, cost implications, supplier capability, and alternative processing methods for all items, which includes onsite visits for bench, scale up, and commercialization.
Gather data, direction, and documents to write and complete product specifications.
Review samples for LTO, National launch, product matching (new supplier or facility), raw material substitutions/changes, specification adherence, annual reviews, annual summits, and product defects.
Work with various line set-ups and equipment without capital investment to match desired product specifications.
Work with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions for food safety, quality, or root cause analysis concerns and corrective actions.
Visit manufacturing facilities for capability determination, and production while monitoring food safety culture.
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred, in Food Science or related field.
5+ years experience required in protein food manufacturing, R&D and/or commercialization. Deli meats experience a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to operate within and enter technical data into database/spec platforms.
