Breadpartners, is a privately held family company based in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. We are active in the wholesale and industrial baking industry, and in particular, the food science field.
By utilizing a large number of key ingredients, such as emulsifiers, enzymes and oxidizing agents such as ascorbic acid, etc., we formulate and manufacture over 200 different blends and formulations that are sold to the largest bread, roll and tortilla bakeries across the country.
This is a very dynamic and fast-moving part of the baking industry. Our proprietary blends of ingredients influence every part of the finished baked product, such as volume, crumb color, crumb texture, softness, shelf life and most importantly the strength of the dough itself. We develop specific formulations for large customers who have a particular need.
Breadpartners, was founded in 2007, by Denis Wellington, who has 40 years of experience in this industry. We occupy a 50,000 square foot SQF certified building in Cinnaminson, which incorporates six production lines, three fully equipped bakeries that are used for product development and quality control as well as administration offices. We also have several highly experienced sales and technical personnel who are based in various parts of the country.
Apart from bread and roll formulations, we also manufacture certain blends for cakes, instant custard and fudge bases.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: R&D Director
Reports to: President
Back-up: Senior Quality Control and Assurance Manager
Direct Reports: Senior Quality Control and Assurance Manager
Pay Type: Salary
General Summary: Responsible for developing, validating, verifying, implementing and maintaining new product development and formulations for all products manufactured or under development. Responsible for food safety including SQF system, HAACP, FSMA, PCQI compliance.
Major Duties:
- Direct R&D team in all aspects of new product development
- Perform qualifying trials and acceptance testing for all products
- Provide detailed documentation for all ingredients, formulations and nutritional’s
- Develop solutions and work directly with sales and customers on implementation
- Develop matches for competitor products
- Manage all product and process development
- Manage startup of production lines
- Create new QC testing requirements
- Train and document QC team on how to perform testing
- Advise production of revision to mixing applications
- Supervise production on new product roll outs
- Regulatory and Food Safety Documentation.
- Develop and manage incoming raw material QA program.
- Ensuring proper implementation and execution of approved quality control procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
