OFD has a current opening for a Manufacturing Director. This position is responsible for leading, managing and directing all aspects of manufacturing, employee safety, and training. Establishes the manufacturing strategy to support the overall company strategy while aligning with OFD purpose and values.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Foster Proactive Zero-Injury Safety Culture and Environmental Stewardship
- Drives the overall vision for OFD’s safety mindset.
- Ensures environmental and occupational safety risk management, primarily through preventative measures.
- Supports evolution of and executes on OFD’s Social Mission Environment Strategy.
- Responsible for organizational compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Drive Manufacturing Excellence and Continuous Improvement Culture
- Responsible for delivering excellence in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee morale.
- Establish appropriate department KPI’s to monitor and measure each of these areas.
- Directs manufacturing continuous improvement mindset and initiatives.
- Oversees Company Enabler Program designed to support growth initiatives through improvements, including, but not limited to, increased productivity, process improvement, and simplification.
- Develops and communicates clear strategies, goals, and business plans to support company growth plans and improvement while appropriately allocating resources to balance short and long-term objectives.
- Ensures consistency among production facilities where applicable, while allowing for plant autonomy.
- Oversees manufacturing training strategy and execution of training objectives to support employee development, engagement, and business needs.
- Responsible for manufacturing employee engagement, balancing uniformity and uniqueness for all facilities.
- Establishes and adheres to operations budgets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Active member of the Extended Leadership Team responsible for identifying solutions and executing plans to meet company objectives, both short and long-term.
- Engages with business unit leaders to ensure cross-functional partnership and alignment.

- Supervises Production/Plant Superintendents, Continuous Improvement Manager, Safety & Environmental Manager, and Training
- Responsible for coaching, development, and management of direct reports including generating annual employee SMART goals, Individual Development Plans, and department succession plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. Equivalent work experience and education will be considered.
- 10 years’ experience in manufacturing required, including previous experience as a plant manager or superintendent.
- Proven experience in the development and communication of clear goals, strategies, and business plans to drive growth while appropriately allocating resources to balance short-term and long-term objectives.
- Familiarity and understanding of OSHA, EPA, DEQ, FDA, USDA, GMP, cGMP, and FMLA regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in business and operating systems.
- Demonstrated strong computer skills and proficiency in business and operating system (MS Office required).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and philosophies. Highly prefer familiarity with Servant Leadership and Situation Leadership models.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, from general labor to board of directors, and adjust communication style accordingly.

- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion to apply knowledge to variable situations.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and interpret information received and adjust approach to meet company and department goals.
- Ability to be discreet and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, able to evaluate complex data to solve business problems.
- Must have reliable transportation to transport self between company facilities during work hours, as needed, and transportation to and from off-site company events. Must hold current, valid drivers’ license and provide proof of current automobile insurance.
