The Department of Nutrition and Health Care Management in the College of Health Sciences at Appalachian State University invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position in nutrition and foods. The successful applicant will have a focus on teaching excellence in both the traditional and online environments. Responsibilities may include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in nutrition science, food systems, food science, and public health nutrition; mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in research; capstone projects; and career planning. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities at the program, department, college, university, profession, and community levels. Successful applicants will have a focus on teaching excellence in both the traditional face-to-face and online environments.
PhD or related degree in nutrition and foods, or a closely related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by the date of the appointment.
