Partners in Food Solutions (PFS) seeks a volunteer with experience in meat packaging to assist Markegest, one of PFS's food processing clients based in Côte D'Ivoire. Markegest is into the slaughtering, packaging, and distribution of poultry.
Markegest stands out in the market currently due to its cleaner slaughtering process and neat poultry packaging before distribution. In a bid to improve these hygiene standards, Markegest seeks to improve its current packaging- polythene bags- into an attractive, more hygienic packaging for retail consumers, especially private clients. The success of this project will be measured by the client having a new quality packaging with attractive and properly branded labels.
A team of volunteers will work in close collaboration with our PFS Food Technologist and Côte D'Ivoire Program Manager, Caroline Bamba, throughout the duration of this project (estimated to e 6 months from kick-off). The proposed primary project steps include;
Volunteers to review products, packaging process, packaging and label design currently in use together with client and PFS Program Manager.
Volunteers to recommend and outline possible packaging and label designs for slaughtered and cleaned poultry.
Volunteers to develop the final type of packaging and labels to be used for poultry.
The client to conduct trials, document results and update changes to product packaging and labels.
Debrief and close project.
Time expectations are approximately one hour per week for PFS volunteers. All PFS volunteers engage remotely with our clients, no travel will be required. Please feel free to reach out for more information.
Experience in food manufacturing, specifically packaging.
Volunteer can be based anywhere in the world because volunteering is done entirely remote.
