The role of the Communications and Events Intern is to work as part of the Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition Marketing and Communications teams to:
Support engagement with external stakeholders, including industry and professional groups
Create engaging digital content for paid, social and owned channels
Work on the planning and execution of trade show engagements
We're seeking a candidate with the ability to liaise between communications and culinary excellence and who wants to champion a strong strategy that help deliver against business goals and enhance brand value of Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition, North America.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing or recently obtained a bachelor's degree or above in public relations, communications, event planning, journalism, marketing, or science-based degree (e.g., nutrition, food science, biology, etc.), ideally with a previous internship or fellowship.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This internship is ideal for someone who finds themselves stopping friends and family from eating their meals until they can take a perfectly curated and styled photo. In addition to day-to-day logistics activities, you will work alongside our R&D and culinary team to put the beautiful recipes and dishes they create through a strategic lens (literally!) as you support content that will appear across all of our channels. The internship will include developing and executing a content strategy for two major industry events, ensuring we have real-time footage to share with employees and customers, in addition to industry and professional group engagement.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Fast paced food/bio-chemical/chemical manufacturing environment working inside and outside. This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.
INTERNSHIP LENGTH & COMMITMENT:
This internship with last three months (June – August) at 30 hours per week, with opportunity for full-time hire based on performance at the end of internship
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires communication with different US locations and some overseas locations with time differences (e.g., Tokyo).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead content creation for internal and external audiences highlighting AHN’s Solution & Ingredients portfolio, culinary experiences, and recipes, along with featuring employee stories and company news
Aide in coordination, execution, and success of events for both internal and external stakeholders through, but not limited to, coordinating logistics among and identifying compelling content strategies to ultimately position Ajinomoto as a leader of innovation and hospitality within the industry and as an employer of choice
Support the development and execution of a content strategy around two major food industry trade shows
Utilize Ajinomoto’s state-of-the-art in-house studio to create out of the box content, creating step-by-step guides and best practices for equipment
Support business leaders with engagement of industry and professional groups (i.e. World Business Chicago) along with community engagement strategy development
Partner with broader Innovation Marketing, R&D and Sales teams to craft the “sell in” stories for innovations to key customers
Work with the team to identify content trends and create agile content in response
Develop and update marketing materials for the Solutions & Ingredients portfolio to be utilized at industry events and customer engagements
