The Chemist, Analytical Characterization & Texture Science (ACTS) will be responsible for analytical characterization using a variety of instrumental analysis techniques, data analysis, and reporting in support of Global Research and Development projects. The ACTS team is focused on the development and utilization of analytical methods to support new product development, technical service, marketing, and manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform analytical tests independently and accurately
Maintain and record daily laboratory activities in lab notebooks
Analyze results, document analytical findings, and accurately communicate results to technical team and management in both oral and written form.
Validate new analytical methods using various techniques
Construct moderately complex data tables and graphs
Carry out scheduled standardization and calibration of lab analytical equipment
Operate according to standard safety procedures and policies
Independently carry out assignments and review data for accuracy and trends and communicate any concerns
Actively seek guidance and feedback from supervisors as well as exploring development and improvement opportunities (training, different assignment, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science field.
Working knowledge of HPLC and other analytical instrumentation/techniques
Method development and general troubleshooting strategy skills highly preferred
Good mathematical skills and familiarity with analytical quantitative calculations
Computer skills with proficiency using MS Word and Excel and the ability to construct moderately complex graphs and charts
Effective communication skills both written and oral
Good organizational skills and ability to handle large amounts of data
