Job Summary: The Assistant QA Manager assists the QA Manager in handling daily QA tasks, which included investigating product quality issues, customer complaints, reviewing and managing COA’s, vendor documents, shelf life determination, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage external lab testing, including sample submission, result review and follow up.
Assist in managing QC technicians.
Assist in conducting in house training.
Conduct in house microbiological, sensory, and chemical testing.
Assist in managing and updating the company Food Safety Program, which includes HACCP, Allergen Control Plan, GMP, mock recall, etc.
Manage internal inspections and assist in 3rd party food safety audit.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
BS in Food Sciences, Food Technology, Microbiology or other related fields required. 1-2 year of hands on quality control experience in a food processing environment preferred.
Experience in GFSI food safety audit strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated leadership skills strongly preferred.
Punctual and reliable, be able to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
