Carolina Ingredients (CI) is currently looking for a Document and Regulatory Control Technician in the R & D Department who is passionate about creating value, building partnerships, finding innovative solutions and who has a “get it done right” attitude.
Job Summary:
The Document and Regulatory Control Technician position is responsible for managing and maintaining up to date documentation for approved formulas entering production as well as ingredients within the facility. This position will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all government regulatory requirements, as well as third party auditors. This position will be supported by and work closely within the R&D and QA departments, as well as cross functionally with purchasing, production and receiving.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee the regulatory compliance for all active blends and ingredients, including but not limited to, COAs, Ingredient statements, BE and Non-GMO statements.
Manage and maintain process flow of all documents requested by customers and mandatory to all incoming ingredients.
Maintain supplier, ingredient, and customer files associated with technical documentation and QA functions.
Monitor the regulatory update, create and implement new process for compliance or documents requested by customers that are not already on use or to cover any new changes in laws or SQF standards
Monitor and update online Quality and Food Safely platforms (TraceGains, ReposiTrak, Document Compliance Network, Foodlogiq)
Review and approve vendor compliance
Participate in audits including but not limited to SQF, Organic Certification, Kosher, Halal.
Ability to learn, apply, and explain State or Federal laws or regulations pertaining to the manufacture of seasonings.
Accurately create technical documents such as Country of Origin, Allergen, Gluten, Bioengineered and GMO Statements for new products.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external partners.
Evaluate current processes and record-keeping systems for areas needing improvement and propose/implement solutions when possible.
Manage and maintain compliance and food safety through the facility, within the scope of job responsibilities.
All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
Understanding of FDA, USDA, FSMA, and HACCP food regulations and requirements.
Understanding of SQF, and other third-party audit processes.
Understanding of Organic, Kosher, Halal, and Non-GMO Project requirements.
