College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences, Department of Extension Family & Consumer Sciences at New Mexico State University announces the opening of an Extension Specialist/Food Science &Technology. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Preferred qualifications: The candidate must be proficient in modern food processing techniques, applied food safety, food plant sanitation, and current food processing and food safety regulations, including the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). This position leads statewide Extension programs in food safety and technology, providing guidance and support to food companies, both new and existing, on food safety regulations and processing and handling practices. It also serves as the process authority to food manufacturing enterprises in the state. Position has statewide responsibilities, travel is required in this position and may require working evenings or weekends. Personal auto required, reimbursed at IRS rate.
