SUMMARY:  Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through closing, for the west coast territory and assigned accounts.  Works with sales support teams to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue generation and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values. Must live in southern California. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Prospects and establishes new accounts throughout territory through extensive face to face contact.
• Meets with multi-level decision makers at prospective and assigned accounts to generate and promote sales opportunities. Specific departments include, R&D, Purchasing, Production, and Marketing.
• Identify key strategic opportunities and develop account plans to capitalize on these opportunities.
• Analyzes product categories, initiates and executes sales for new products at existing and new accounts.
• Provide feedback and collaborate with Farbest Product Management on developing product line initiatives that align with market trends based on voice of customer.
• Manages time and territory by planning itinerary effectively and efficiently and allocating call frequency based on the account potential value.
• Continually analyzes territory performance and devises strategies and tactics to improve sales.
• Negotiate and secure contracts with strategic accounts.
• Provides customer service by responding to customer complaints and furnishing solutions for customer satisfaction.
• Submits sales forecasts for active and prospective accounts and furnishes updates to management as requested.
• Creates correspondence with customers, prospects, and other Farbest offices. Also maintains telephone and personal contact with these groups. Collects data for credit manager on new and existing accounts; and participates in collections when requested.
• Attains, analyzes, and reports competitive activity to management, for evaluation.
• Submit written reports to include monthly customer activity, forecasts, project funnel and other reports as required.
• Participate in regional and national exhibitions and sales meetings.

TRAVEL:

• This position requires up to 50% travel.  Travel is primarily outside of the local area and often with multiple overnight stays.
